Food Aid
Sharing the food we receive through our temples with our pilgrims, the wider community and the world has always been a core aspect of our work at Skanda Vale.
Every year, numerous pilgrims visit our temples and present offerings of food and various items as part of their pilgrimage. These offerings sustain both the resident community and the visiting pilgrims at Skanda Vale. We also share surplus food with organizations throughout the UK and beyond, through our established partnerships.

What we offer
We are much more able to give food during our busy season, which is generally from April to October.
Most of the food we give out are dry non-perishables, especially rice, flour, lentils, tea and spices.
We might also, at different times, be able to offer oil, sugar, vegetables (particularly onions and potatoes) and even fruit, though availability varies.
our warehouse
In 2012, we redeveloped our warehouse, giving us space to store surplus food from local supermarkets for redistribution.
We plan to develop the facility even further over the next two years to increase our capacity and include a cold storage area.
